George Nel is an Associate Professor in the School of Accountancy at Stellenbosch University, where he also serves as the Deputy Director of Research and Head of the Financial Accounting (BCom) division. He has successfully supervised Masters and PhD students to completion and has acted as an external examiner for various higher education institutions. George is an Associate Editor at the South African Journal of Economic and Management Sciences, has been a guest editor for several special issues, and serves on the editorial boards of multiple accredited journals. George holds a PhD in Finance from the Stellenbosch Business School. His research interests include corporate governance (specifically stakeholder relationships, executive director`s remuneration, and risk governance) as well as the consequences of corporate reporting. He has presented numerous papers at both local and international conferences and published several articles in South African and international journals.

Rolien Kunz is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Auditing at the University of Pretoria, lecturing on the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting Sciences, previously known as CTA. Rolien is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and acted as external examiner for various higher education institutions on both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She is a co-author of Auditing Fundamentals in a South African Context and the co-editor of the accompanying question book. Rolien was awarded Teaching and Learning awards and Research awards by the Economic and Management Sciences Faculty of the University of Pretoria. She holds a Masters in Commerce in Auditing degree from the University of Pretoria and is currently registered for her PhD. Rolien was part of the research team responsible for the SAICA Competency Framework CA2025. She has presented a number of papers at both local and overseas conferences and published several articles in both South African and international journals. Her research interest includes accounting education as well as the use of the latest information technology in auditing and education.

Tracy Geraldine Beck is an Associate Professor at the Nelson Mandela University. She is a Professional Accountant (SA) and is a committee member of the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA), Eastern Cape Region since 2015. Tracy was Head of Department of Applied Accounting from 2017 to 2020 and is currently the Director of the School of Accounting. As part of a team, she has won several Institutional engagement awards for various academic engagement projects. She was awarded the Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences Excellent Teacher of the Year in 2015. Tracy serves on several research related committees within the Nelson Mandela University and holds a Doctor in Philosophy degree in Accounting which she obtained from the Nelson Mandela University in December 2022. She has supervised a number of postgraduate Master studies students and is co-author of various conference papers and journal articles. Her research interests include accounting education, financial accounting, and work-readiness of accounting graduates.

Yogesh Brahmbhatt is a Senior Lecturer in Management Accounting and Finance at the University of the Witwatersrand`s School of Accountancy. Yogesh is currently the course coordinator for Management Accounting and Finance 4. He teaches students from first year to fourth year. At the same time, he supervises Masters and Honours students in the field of finance, crypto and emerging technologies. Yogesh holds a Master of Commerce in Accounting from the University of the Witwatersrand.

Tanya Thompson is a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Law at Mangosuthu University of Technology. Tanya has lectured at a few South African tertiary institutions on various undergraduate and postgraduate academic programmes. She holds a Masters of Accountancy in Financial Accounting from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and presented a paper at an overseas conference. Her research interests include financial reporting, financial and accounting education and public sector accounting.

Shelly Herbert is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and an Associate Professor within the College of Accounting at the University of Cape Town. She has been an academic within the College since 2009 and has taught various undergraduate financial reporting and business acumen courses, public sector financial reporting courses for postgraduate students, and honours and masters research method courses. She is a co-author of Financial Accounting: IFRS Principles, and Financial Accounting: Groups, textbooks. She holds a Masters in Commerce degree in Financial Accounting from the University of Cape Town and is currently a PhD candidate. She is an active researcher and supervisor in the fields of integrated reporting, sustainability reporting and environmental, social and governance (ESG).

Dr Veruschka Pelser-Carstens is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Accounting Sciences at the North-West University, South Africa. She completed her PhD at the University of Eastern Finland in 2022 by developing a Serious Game Design Framework for Educational Tabletop Games with Digital Components. Dr Pelser-Carstens also diversified her research focus to include Blended Learning, that utilises various multimedia platforms, and Instructional Design with particular emphasis on Design Science Research. Dr. Pelser-Carstens is part of the research entity Technology Enhanced Learning and Innovative Education and Training in South Africa (TELIT-SA). Current research projects involve the development of an interactive Serious Game for the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences (FEMS). Dr. Pelser-Carstens has also been the recipient of numerous Teaching Excellence awards.

Phillip de Jager is a Professor in the Department of Finance and Tax at the University of Cape Town and a visiting Professor of the School of Finance at Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance. He teaches on corporate finance, investments, and research methodology. His research interests are bank capital, corporate finance, and research about research. He is an associate editor of the Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies (JAEE) and Meditari Accountancy Research Journal (MEDAR). Philip recently did work on excessive pricing conduct for the Competition Commission of South Africa.

Juan Ontong is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Accountancy at Stellenbosch University. Juan is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and has lectured financial accounting and auditing at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. He has also lectured a post graduate research module and served as a supervisor for various post graduate students. He is a member of the Stellenbosch University research ethics committee and joint project leader for the Ex-Cell workshop, a business acumen workshop for small businesses owners and previously incarcerated individuals. His research interest includes accounting education, with a focus on student wellbeing and student success, as well as corporate governance and financial accounting. He has published various journal articles and presented at conferences.
